ABOUT US

HISTORY

Lorenzo Traversi entered the textile trade in the 1980s, dealing mainly with products from Prato. He later decided to set himself apart from the local market by offering an alternative to the classic 'carded' fabrics of Prato.

So it was that with his new business partner, Francesco Scatolini, his interests shifted to Northern Italy and more precisely to Biella. Together they began to seek and purchase fabrics of superior quality, worldwide symbols of 'Made in Italy' for both men and women.

With this work and the experience gained over the years, Tex House srl, based in Prato, was formed in 1992. Since then, Lorenzo's son Luigi Traversi, current administrator of the company, has contributed to enlarging the business.

This growth has led to a wide range of fabrics from the largest wool mills in Biella and Prato and pre-eminent fashion houses, where garments from the most important national and international labels are produced.

A young company, we have expanded our range over the years by adding silk and cotton fabrics to the wool we have always offered, which was, is, and will be our leading product.

In January 2016, our company headquarters relocated from the center of Prato to the more modern and functional location in the industrial area of Montemurlo, in the Province of Prato.

These are the ideal headquarters for managing the business, with ample parking, a swatch room and increasingly rigorous fabric control.

The symbol of our company is close-knit teamwork. Thanks to our staff, over the years TEX HOUSE has become a standard-bearer of Made in Italy around the world.

In fact, for several years now, we have been exporting products to the main Eastern European countries, Europe, Asia and Australia, with widespread approval from our customers.

We have always relied on textile professionals: companies, wholesalers, garment manufacturers and shops.

We are confident that by working with us, you will be able to realize your every idea and market quality Made in Italy fabrics in your shops.

It is important to point out that this is not an e-commerce site. We do, however, offer an innovative client-company interface to facilitate purchases for foreign customers who have never worked with us and who, for logistical reasons, cannot buy directly at our office.
